Community Feedback
Dear WorldWorks,
On behalf of the entire board of directors, staff and clients of Operation SafeHouse, we wish to express our sincere appreciation for WorldWorks and OC69 in particular.
Based on our association with this group, our agency has been given many fabulous opportunities - actually too many to count.
OPeration SafeHouse is a shelter for runaway, homeless and at-risk youth located in Riverside. Our mission is to provide a safe place for youth who are experiencing a serious crisis in their lives. In addition to shelter, we provide counseling, food clothing, an education program and counseling for the entire family. These are young people who, without our services, might become victims of the streets. We are very proud of our agency and the work that we do.
OC69 adopted SafeHouse as their charity and was successful in raising over $23,000 for our agency. But that was only the beginning for these generous people. They spent quality time with the youth, and engaged them in many weekend projects, including plays, art therapy and a "poetry-jam" held at a local coffee shop. The repaired broken items and helped us with a leaky shower that we thought was going to cost us thousands of dollars.
It is my belief that these individuals, through their generosity and strength of spirit, gave the many young people they dealt with experiences that will last a lifetime. They were amazing in so many ways.
Because of their involvement, several of our staff members have been through the beginning WorldWorks program and our shleter director is entering the third phase of her program. Thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do. This experience has changed us all for the better.
Sincerely, Kathy McAdara Executive Director
"I am writing on behalf of Hollygrove Children & Family Services. We are a residential treatment facility for abused and neglected children located in Hollywood. There are up to 68 children living on our campus and we serve 360 children and their families during the year. We have been so fortunate to be recipirent of both OC26 and OC40's community service project. Today, members of OC40 delivered a myriad of in-kind donations from our wish list and a check in the amount of $21,171 - and, I understand that we will be receiving another $2000! Each group not only met, but exceeded their goal and Hollygrove is so grateful to have been selected as the recipient of these funds."
"In addition to funds raised and in-kind donations, raising awareness about child abuse and children in the foster care system is invaluable to us. And most important are the relationships we have developed with individuals in the group. We are thankful to each and every member of OC26 and OC40 for truly making a difference in the lives of children growing up at Hollygrove."
THANK YOU!
Doris Goodman Director of Corporate & Foundations Relations, Hollygrove Children and Family Services
Dear WorldWorks,
I wanted you all to know how incredibly blessed Inspire was by OC50. They had such passion to help our participants and encourage me. We are a fairly new charity and being chosen by OC50 infused a lot of energy and excitement into our program. Our participants are young woman ages 18-19 who have recently come out of foster care. They are working hard at becoming educated, self-sufficient and responsible. The life skills that the OC50 leaders came in and taught were fun and applicable. The Inspire girls had wonderful days getting pampered and having a Superbowl BBQ. Most of all, they saw how much people care about their personal success. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wanted you to know what an everlasting impact your group has made on our charity. With Gratitude,
Kristi Camplin Insire Director
